Leica SL: get the 2.0 firmware with improved autofocus and shutter to 1 / 16.000s

Leica has focused heavily on Leica SL, a system that the German brand wants to offer the public an alternative to professional SLR top of the range. The company based in Wetzlar now proposes to holders of Leica SL version 2.0 firmware with new features and some improvements that will certainly welcome. We start from the profile: the new Leica SL firmware update facilitates the exposure compensation in the three ways to auto exposure: P, T and A, a very nice feature (and widespread on all cameras that address the fans) when it takes no manual, but do not want to lose control of over- or under exposure. Leica has also upgraded the shutter speed, bringing the maximum shutter speed to 30 minutes while maintaining all automation and introducing the electronic shutter can go up to 1 / 16.000s, to freeze even more action when needed .

Leica claims to have also already one of the fastest AF on the market, but has been working in this area to improve the performance of Leica SL, since it was the auto focus is one of the most sensitive and important for professionals. The update is available for download, along with instructions for installation, on the Leica website. We had had a first contact with Leica SL at the time of its release, found our article on this page, while below we represent the attached gallery and hands-on video. We hope to soon have in my hands a copy to test the new version of firmware.
