Google I / O: full calendar of events on Virtual Reality and Project Tango

The Google I / O kicks off in just under a month (18 to 20 May) and Google today announced a significant part of the appointments on the calendar, a circumstance that allows you to determine with greater certainty what will be the topics covered in the course of ' event. One immediately emerges with sufficient clarity and concerns the Virtual Reality and Reality Increase. Seven sessions in all, one of the most significant would be scheduled for April 19 and, like other relevant, will be broadcast live streaming.

It 'identified by the simple name "VR at Google", accompanied by a terse description which reads: "Google's vision for virtual reality, what we have built, what we have learned and where we are headed." Virtual Reality 360 ° with special in-depth session on the issues VR & Cinema Live and coding: Make a virtual reality game. At the Google I / O the home of Mountain View could announce its new Virtual Reality Viewer, protagonist of many rumors spread in recent weeks.

Current return, also, Project Tango, as evidenced by the planned sessions First we will discuss the issues related to the use in the field of gaming (6 Degree of Freedom Gaming on Android with Project Tango); the second, "Introducing Project Tango Learning Area", will focus on the functions of "spatial learning." The sensors, provided by the Project Tango devices can indeed "save" the space around the user, carrying out scanning and creating a 3D model. In this way, remember Google, developers can apply virtual objects in the real world, create multiplayer experiences and know exactly where individual players are located.

Describing briefly a third session dedicated to the subject, "What's new in Project Tango", Google explicitly refers to the launch of the first consumer smartphone with support for Project Tango, announced earlier this year. The reference is to the device developed in collaboration with Lenovo, whose arrival is generally planned for summer. Closing the framework intervenes "Project Tango Developer Panel", space intended for the experiences of the developers who have already made app for Project Tango (Lowe, Autodesk, Schell Games, etc.).

Virtual reality, augmented, Project Tango, without neglecting, of course, the Android operating system, featured in numerous sessions from the one that will illustrate the novelties of the new major release of the operating system of the green robot (What's new in Android) and the new tools available developers (What's new in Android development tool). Among the new Android N may include, among other, the strictly functional to the native support of the Virtual Reality app, as previously emerged. Do not miss also the initial keynote on 18 May which will focus on the most relevant ads.

Max Q: Anomalous

Hello and welcome back to Max Q! Last week wasn’t the most successful for spaceflight missions. We’ll get into that a bit more below. In this issue: First up, a botched launch from Virgin Orbit… …followed by one from ABL Space Systems News from Rocket Lab, World View and more Virgin Orbit’s botched launch highlights shaky financial future After Virgin Orbit’s launch failure last Monday, during which the mission experienced an  “anomaly” that prevented the rocket from reaching orbit, I went back over the company’s financials — and things aren’t looking good. For Virgin Orbit, this year has likely been completely turned on its head. The company was aiming for three launches this year, but everything will remain grounded until the cause of the anomaly has been identified and resolved. It’s unclear how long that will take, but likely at least three months. Add this delay to Virgin’s dwindling cash reserves and you have a foundation that’s suddenly much shakier than before. ...
