GameStop launches new production division

GameTwist is the manufacturing division just announced by GameStop. The famous retailer chain has announced that it plans to establish a different model than the traditional one, that can help developers to maintain full control over the creative process.
GameSpot has already reached agreements with four major software companies: Frozenbyte (Trine), Ready at Dawn Studios (The Order: 1886), Tequila Works (Deadlight), and Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank).
According to reports from the Associated Press, the goal of GameTrust is not so much compete with industry heavyweights such as Electronic Arts, Activision or Ubisoft. "There are areas largely ignored", she said Mark Stanley, vice president of internal development for GameStop. "Honestly, we're not going to be looking for $ 15 million franchise. We want rather to control smaller games in order to launch them into market windows unattended and stay away from the craziness of the Christmas season."
