In a surprise move Google has released in March a first embryonic version of Android N for its Nexus devices. In this the first news, but they have been implemented other non yields right now available for all users we have been introduced. In addition to split-screen or the new notifications center, in short, Android N hides other features no less interesting, such as native support for "Force Touch" spotted inside the new version of the code.
Already present on some devices based on iOS and Android (such as Apple calls it 3D Touch), Touch Force identifies a technology that detects the strength of the pressure on the display to provide a specific input. Google will introduce a similar feature on its mobile operating system, and to give a first example of the operation of alternative interaction mode is Phandroid. The example that we report in gif was made with N Android Developer Preview 2.
The source says that the feature must be supported by the launcher, and in this case it was used Nova Launcher, the only one with which Kevin Barry and Steve Albright developers have managed to get results. Two of the elements shown in gif, design and gesture, are considered specific implementation of Barry. The gesture used by the developer is the "swipe down", but the launcher manufacturer may use other gestures, including "Force Touch".
At the time of this writing there are no Nexus devices with hardware support for the feature, and it is for this that the developer had to choose an alternative gesture. It is likely that the media will be officially unveiled during the IO 2016, when Google will see how will be the official implementation of "Force Touch" on Android and compatible devices.
