Samsung Electronics today launched a new memory card types: Samsung EVO Plus 256GB is the micro-SD with more storage space available in its market segment. It is a card capable of surprise also on the performance front, comparable to those of a hard disk of high-end. "With the growing trend of consumers using the mobile devices to high performance, high capacity, the new 256GB microSD card based on NAND-V allows us to deliver to consumers the memory card they were looking for," said A-Soo Kim, Senior Vice President of Brand Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics. "Our EVO Plus 256GB microSD card will provide consumers broad capabilities and high-speed read and write."
The memory card (UHS-1 Class 10) will appeal to an audience certainly enthusiast that has very specific requirements, can be inserted on smartphones and tablet compatible, but also on more specific devices. Among the popular ones drones, action camera and video-recorder at 360 °, all trends constantly increasing and that require fast data storage systems (for video at 60fps or 4K), yet very capacious.
According to data released by Samsung card can hold up to 12 hours of video at 4K resolution and up to 33 hours of video recording in Full HD, as well as up to 23,500 MP3 files. The new microSD is water-resistant and has obtained IPX7 certification, and can also be used near magnetic sources and X-ray Samsung EVO Plus 256GB will be available in the US, Europe, China and other regions in June at a price launch of $ 249.
