NVIDIA has gathered brilliant sales results in the first three months of its fiscal year 2017, corresponding to the months of February, March and April 2016. In the reporting period the company achieved a turnover of 1.3 billion US dollars, an increase of approximately 13% compared to the same period last year.
Much larger the operating profit, which rose to $ 245 million against the previous 176 million, in which case the increase was 39%. Always positive net income, of $ 196 million and an increase of 46% compared to 12 months ago.
Much of the credit for these results is the sales of GPUs, especially those destined for gamers belonging to the GeForce family. On sales of GPU of 1.08 billion dollars the share of products for the gaming amounted to 687 million dollars.
During the quarter, the company, however, was also able to increase its business activities in other divisions: the automotive contributed sales of approximately $ 133 million, an increase of 47% over last year. similar dynamic for the panorama of dedicated solutions to data centers: in this case, the turnover amounted to 143 million dollars, with an annual growth of 63%.
The positive data from this fiscal quarter are also confirmed by the estimates for the second quarter of fiscal 2017: NVIDIA expects sales of approximately $ 1.25 billion, with a gross operating margin of 57.7% which would be aligned with the 57.5% registered in this quarter.
