Google ready to challenge Amazon Echo with 'Chirp' | Rumor

Back with a new current of Re / Code report the rumor according to which Google would be working to develop a standalone voice assistant for the integration in the home. A similar solution to Echo, the Amazon Bluetooth speakers enhanced with the functionality of its voice assistants. Google Chirp will support the search functions and voice services using, of course, the services provided by Bigg, and will be presented with a robe similar to that of OnHub wireless router developed by the search giant, introduced last summer, but devoid of functions vowels. For the moment Google did not comment on the new report on the implementation of Chirp.

Google Chirp, the source adds, probably will not be launched at the Google I / O, which will start as of May 25th, but will arrive later this year. The Google I / O also be an important event to learn about the progress made by Google in the field of voice search and personal digital assistants "intelligent." Pieces of a picture that could then be composed with the announcement of Chirp.

The assumption that Google wants to further expand the range of tools that allow you to access its search services with a product that comes into direct competition with Amazon Echo is not at all far-fetched. Amazon's solution, which according to recent estimates of analysts had sales of more than 3 million units, gathers a great deal of relevant information through searches performed by users, activities, always, is the main core of Google's business. Easy to imagine that Google does not want to lose ground against a major competitor.

To assess whether the challenge that Google is launching Amazon will be more comprehensive up to understand a real smart home platform. From this point of view Amazon a head start with a range of devices "powered by Alexa", the integrated voice assistant in the Amazon Echo, which includes in addition to the latter, even the Tap and Echo Dot. Google has begun to explore the IoT industry in the home with the acquisition of Nest took place in 2014.

Hello and welcome back to Max Q! Last week wasn’t the most successful for spaceflight missions. We’ll get into that a bit more below. In this issue: First up, a botched launch from Virgin Orbit… …followed by one from ABL Space Systems News from Rocket Lab, World View and more Virgin Orbit’s botched launch highlights shaky financial future After Virgin Orbit’s launch failure last Monday, during which the mission experienced an  “anomaly” that prevented the rocket from reaching orbit, I went back over the company’s financials — and things aren’t looking good. For Virgin Orbit, this year has likely been completely turned on its head. The company was aiming for three launches this year, but everything will remain grounded until the cause of the anomaly has been identified and resolved. It’s unclear how long that will take, but likely at least three months. Add this delay to Virgin’s dwindling cash reserves and you have a foundation that’s suddenly much shakier than before. ...
