Windows 10 Mobile IP: new things Microsoft Edge and Store

Although market share is certainly not exciting (see the latest Kantar statistics) the Windows Mobile operating system 10 can not certainly be defined as a software platform on the decline in terms of support and development, as evidenced by the continued commitment of the house Redmond that continues to perfect the functions with the help of Windows Insider users. The next significant stage in the evolution of Windows Mobile 10 coincides with the Anniversary Update will be released during the summer. Meanwhile, the Insider Preview release of W10M they anticipate the news.

Microsoft in the past few hours has started distributing the new release Insider Preview build of Windows 10 14342 Mobile that presents itself to the public with three new features documented in the official changelog. First, the Microsoft browser Edge was introduced support for gestures to display the next page and the previous one. It is one of the most requested by the public functions, which finally makes its debut in the mobile version, starting with the release Insider Preview.

The second change concerns the announced support to the ability to manage the redirect web sites to a given app. The feature was announced on the occasion of Build 2016, also integrated a few days ago in the Windows desktop IP 10 but is not yet fully usable. The changes introduced in the recent builds are in fact preparatory to the app that will support the redirect web sites (options for the management of the new features available in the Setup> System> App for websites).

The third change is documented in the changelog refers to improvements Hub app feedback, Microsoft uses to acquire feedback and suggestions from users trying to preview the new releases of Windows 10 Mobile. Following the changes introduced in the process of creating a new feedback is now possible to use the hint system of categories and subcategories, based on the title and description entered by the user. As usual, there is also a decent list of known bug fixes and of which it would be appropriate to inspect before the possible download and installation of the new build.

After starting the distribution of the new Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft has made available also 11604.1000.21.0 the new version of the Windows Store. The House of Redmond is still committed to finding the best layout for the mobile version of its app store and seems to have embarked on a path which passes through the vertical development of the contents (see the reviews are placed in the lower part of the page) and several refinements graphics (have been modified, for example, the banners of the individual apps with the addition of a dark gradient). Reorganized part of the app's menu with downloads and updates placed high on the list.

The new version of the store, the avoidance of doubt, can be downloaded only with the Insider Preview version of Windows Mobile 10 and not in the stable release. For the moment, the distribution is limited to Windows Mobile 10 and not to the desktop counterpart.

Max Q: Anomalous

Hello and welcome back to Max Q! Last week wasn’t the most successful for spaceflight missions. We’ll get into that a bit more below. In this issue: First up, a botched launch from Virgin Orbit… …followed by one from ABL Space Systems News from Rocket Lab, World View and more Virgin Orbit’s botched launch highlights shaky financial future After Virgin Orbit’s launch failure last Monday, during which the mission experienced an  “anomaly” that prevented the rocket from reaching orbit, I went back over the company’s financials — and things aren’t looking good. For Virgin Orbit, this year has likely been completely turned on its head. The company was aiming for three launches this year, but everything will remain grounded until the cause of the anomaly has been identified and resolved. It’s unclear how long that will take, but likely at least three months. Add this delay to Virgin’s dwindling cash reserves and you have a foundation that’s suddenly much shakier than before. ...
