This year there will be a new Call of Duty, but nothing Assassin's Creed

In recent years it has been the most commercially successful series in the video game world, enough to push the respective manufacturers Activision and Ubisoft to rilasciarne a new chapter for years. Besides keeping these rhythms it has proved more difficult than expected, with some chapters clearly insufficient by the quality and technical viewpoints, Assassin's Creed Unity on all.

Ubisoft has now confirmed rumors that had spread in recent times, announcing that in 2016 there will be a new Assassin's Creed. That the situation is somewhat paradoxical it is evident from this: that is, whether it should announce that there will not be a game.

"This year we decided to take a step back and review the Assassin's Creed" franchise, Ubisoft writes in the blog. "Consequently there will be a new Assassin's Creed in 2016. We have learned a lot from Assassin's Creed Unity, thanks to your feedback. Since that time we have changed our development processes in order to make the new Assassin's Creed a top quality franchise. we will use this time to improve the game mechanics and to ensure that the promises of Assassin's Creed is maintained. Very soon we will share the progress we are making, but in the meantime we want to thank the millions of fans around the world who continue to support us. "

Ubisoft has however recently released the final chapter of the series spin-off Chronicles, which we reviewed India. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia is in fact now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

It is very different the situation at home Activision, because through the publication of financial results for the full fiscal year 2015 was announced the new chapter of Call of Duty. "In Q4 2016 Activision Publishing will release a new and innovative game of the Call of Duty series, developed by Infinity Ward studio that created the series Modern Warfare," the statement said of Activision.

As for the fiscal year 2015 Activision posted GAAP net revenue of 4.66 billion dollars, compared to 4.41 billion a year earlier. Sales in digital format now make up 54% of total sales, a record with sales of $ 2.5 billion relating to digital. The figure GAAP earnings per diluted share is a record, or $ 1.19 compared to 1.13 the previous fiscal year.

Max Q: Anomalous

Hello and welcome back to Max Q! Last week wasn’t the most successful for spaceflight missions. We’ll get into that a bit more below. In this issue: First up, a botched launch from Virgin Orbit… …followed by one from ABL Space Systems News from Rocket Lab, World View and more Virgin Orbit’s botched launch highlights shaky financial future After Virgin Orbit’s launch failure last Monday, during which the mission experienced an  “anomaly” that prevented the rocket from reaching orbit, I went back over the company’s financials — and things aren’t looking good. For Virgin Orbit, this year has likely been completely turned on its head. The company was aiming for three launches this year, but everything will remain grounded until the cause of the anomaly has been identified and resolved. It’s unclear how long that will take, but likely at least three months. Add this delay to Virgin’s dwindling cash reserves and you have a foundation that’s suddenly much shakier than before. ...
