Garmin announces VivoActive HR and Vivofit 3

Garmin today announced, in anticipation of some days the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, two new products belonging to VivoActive and Vivofit families. Let's talk about VivoActive HR and Vivofit 3, both based on the products the company already offers on the market and which have been modified with some interesting additions.


VivoActive HR, as the name implies easily, integrates the heartbeat optical sensor that detects both during sports activities both in the use daily tick. The integrated GPS sensor can detect correctly the distances during sports activities and no shortage of ordinary notification feature of the messages coming from your smartphone. Like other Garmin models of medium to high-end HR VivoActive also supports Connect IQ, for the installation of App specifications developed by the community Garmin.

The autonomy of operation with activated GPS is increased compared to that of the VivoActive model, passing from the previous 8 hours to 13 hours declared. Cala instead that in 24x7 operation not in operation mode, which passes from the previous 3 weeks at about 8 days by virtue of the heartbeat of the optical sensor that detects the beat consumption in the course of the day.

Vivofit 3 is a fitness bracelet evolution of Vivofit 2 model by Garmin edition of the 2015 CES in Las Vegas. The main innovation is represented by a Car Activity Detection feature, which automatically determines what type of sporting activity takes place between running, swimming, cycling and elliptical in order to bring the calorie consumption and distance estimation accordingly. It remains unchanged one of the most interesting features of Vivofit range: we speak of autonomy which is guaranteed for 1 year with the supplied battery pack.

The two new models will be sold in the second quarter of the year, lists of respectively $ 249 and $ 99 in the North American market. Garmin officially will show these products at MWC in Barcelona from next week.
