Lemmings turned 25

Players with a few more years on the shoulders reminiscent of Lemmings with great nostalgia. Mainly for the brilliance of its game mechanics, as well as the sympathy of his unforgettable characters. And Lemmings was launched, in the original version, its February 14, 1991, exactly 25 years ago.

Programmed by David Jones and Mike Dailly, or the couple who would also have given birth to the first Grand Theft Auto, Lemmings is a game of strategy focused on original creatures a bit 'naive who do not care much to their steps. The player could attach stakes to avoid them to finish in one of the traps of which were studded levels of play, in order to expedite the arrival of "train" the lemmings at the end of the level.

Creatures with green hair, in fact, could fall into chasms, drowning in the water or in the mud, getting burned, sliced, crushed, and more. In the original version of the game, though, they could give 8 different commands, like climbing a wall or destroy itself, through which guide the group on track.

Lemmings was developed by the DMA Designs and distributed by Psygnosis, and over time converted to many formats, over 20, while the original version was released on the Amiga. The latest incarnation, however, is Lemmings Touch for PS Vita.
