Qualcomm Announces New Snapdragon SoC 625, 435 and 425

Qualcomm renews the offer of SoC mobile devices, introducing three new models for the middle segment and entry level: Snapdragon 625, 435 and 425. The stated objective is to make available to a wider audience the premium Qualcomm technologies dedicated to the smartphone world.

The three SoC share a common core of functionality including:

LTE connectivity with carrier aggregation
wireless connectivity with 802.11ac support MU-MIMO
ISP (Image Signal Processor) dual camera
Qualcomm TruSignal (improves call quality)
Qualcomm Hexagon DSP (improves sound quality)
Support Qualcomm Quick Charge (to recharge the battery quickly

By getting more into the merits of the individual models, you can view the feature of which is equipped with the most handsome model of the lot, or the Snapdragon 625. In addition to increased performance, the new SoC is the first model to use Snapdragon midrange the FinFET technology to 14 nm, a refinement of the production process that reduces fuel consumption by 35% over the previous generation.

The core of the SoC is made up of the octa-core CPU ARM Cortex A53, while in terms of connectivity it detects the presence of the X9 LTE modem with support for 4G + (speed of maximum upload networks of 150 Mbps, which is three times faster than traditional LTE modem). The graphics are entrusted to the GPU Adreno 506 with support for Vulkan API.

There is also a special focus on aspects related to the segment imaging: the SoC supports two camera in high-resolution photos at 24 megapixels and a front camera with a sensor up to 13 megapixels. The computing power also allows you to handle advanced editing activities of the images, apply special effects in post production quality, record and play movies up to the maximum 4k resolution.

Positioned below the Snapdragon 625, the Snapdragon 435 is moving forward in adopting a octa.-core CPU ARM Cortex-A53, while raising the bar on the hardware configuration of SoC integrating the end of X8 LTE modem with support for 4G networks + ( up to 300 Mbps download and up to 100 Mbps for uploads). The graphics accelerator is the Adreno 505 that offers adequate computing power to handle user interfaces with 1080p resolution at 60 fps. The dual ISP support cam with sensors up to 21 megapixels.

Closes the framework of the entry level chipset, which stands as a valid heir of the appreciated Snapdragon 410 and the Snapdragon 412. The integrated CPU is quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 type, while the GPU is the Adreno 308; it is a hardware optimized for the management of HD screens at 60 fps. The platform supports photo sensors with resolutions up to 16 megapixels. The sector connectivity is characterized by the presence of X6 LTE modem with maximum upload up to 75 Mbps

Availability

Qualcomm plans to deliver to its customers the first sample in the first half of 2016. Specifically, the consumer audience will have to wait until the second half of the year before buying devices equipped with the new chipset.
