Microsoft confirmed the arrival of Linux Bash shell in Windows 10

They found final confirmation on the stage of the conference Build 2016 rumors spread nellle hours past the time Microsoft will integrate the Linux Bash shell in Windows 10. The Redmond has confirmed the collaboration with Canonical, thanks to which the Windows operating system 10 natively support the interface of the Ubuntu command line. Microsoft has placed an emphasis on native support, specifying that it will not be running in a virtual machine, nor a cross-compiled tools Kevin Gallen (Director Program Management for the Windows Developer Platform).

By partnering with Canonical Windows 10 will integrate natively on Ubuntu Linux subsystem that can be downloaded directly from the Windows Store. Interested users will have access to native API, the file system and can take advantage of the VT100 and SSH support. Microsoft's stated goal is to make Windows available in "the power of open source command-line tool."

This is not unusual instruments in the absolute sense, since third-party tools can achieve similar results; direct partnership between Microsoft and Canonical, however, does take the news far weight, confirming the open attitude of the Redmond home against the open source world. A position that could lead to the achievement of new milestones in the future, in the light of lace advances provided by Terry Myerson Microsoft: 'more coming soon ".

The news of the Linux Bash shell in Windows 10 was met with thunderous applause from the audience at the Build conference, undoubtedly very sensitive to issues related to open source, being formed largely by developers, and is likely to be equally well received by users who are following with interest the Linux world.
