Keywords Studios acquires the Italian localization company Synthesis

The transaction has a value of 18 million euro, of which the first tranche of 10.2 million will be paid in cash. It is thus to create the largest group in the field of video game localization services, given that the merger concerns two of the most active companies in the sector.

Keywords Studios expects the deal immediately translate into higher earnings, with Synthesis who presented a turnover of 16.9 million Euros in 2015 and profit after taxes amounted to 2 million euro. As for keywords, however, in 2015 we have a turnover of 58 million Euros and profits of 8 million euro.

Figures which give a clear idea of ​​the scope of the game localization market. Synthesis can indeed boast a productive working relationship with major manufacturers industry as Activision Bethesda, Disney, Ubisoft and Sony, having worked on the franchise Call of Duty caliber, Grand Theft Auto, World of Warcraft, Destiny, Borderlands, Need for Speed, Assassins Creed, Battlefront and Fallout.

In May 2014 Keywords Studios had also acquired Rails Sound. Thus assumes control of Synthesis subsidiaries with offices in Switzerland, Milan and Hamburg. The operations in Brazil, Mexico, USA, Spain, Tokyo and Singapore are absorbed by the corresponding keywords.
