Sony is working on a version of PS4 with more powerful hardware so that it can be able to render the video games and other content to 4K resolution. Kotaku has learned, collecting some items at the Game Developers Conference that last week in San Francisco held.
The well-known site dedicated to video games has talked to some developers, who asked to remain anonymous, according to which Sony would also be concerned about the required processing capacity from virtual reality games ahead of the PS VR debut. In order to offer the faithful game worlds that do not produce nausea in users, virtual reality, in fact, requires particularly detailed graphics and fluid. The basic version of the PS VR, which will arrive on the market in October, it will be accompanied by an external unit.
Sony would have met the GDC some developers to agree with them the hardware features of the new console, at the moment indicated by the name in PS4.5 code.
If these rumors are confirmed, we would find ourselves in front of a big change for the world of consoles, because until today every generation is matched by a specific hardware. Developers could then create video games that run exclusively on the latest hardware revision and not the previous ones, perhaps to support the 4K or VR.
For the moment, however, there is no official confirmation on PS4.5, which could still arrive at E3 to be held in June.
