Apple would have enlisted former Amazon Corporate Security

George Stathakopoulos, former vice president of Information Security for Amazon, would be enrolled by Apple where it will take the duties of a role similar to that occupied by the e-commerce giant. A spreading the rumor is the Fortune website.
Although the official enrollment is yet to be confirmed, there would be a series of detailed evidence that would prove the presence of Stathakopoulos in Apple. The ex-Amazon would be already working at Apple for a week about coordinating the corporate security operations. A journalist who contacted the Apple switchboard asking to speak with Stathakopoulos was put in contact with a person who answered "Office of George".
Inside the Apple Stathakopoulos will report to CFO Luca Maestri and will be responsible for managing and monitoring the security of corporate systems for the design and development of products and software, as well as those systems that preserve sensitive user data.

Consult the LinkedIn profile of Stathakopoulos, these results still to Amazon forces. Before joining the company of Jeff Bezos, Stathakopoulos worked as an engineer for Microsoft and later as general manager of product security, which allowed him to become manager of the Microsoft Security Response Center and the Global Security Strategy and Diplomacy. This position put Stathakopoulos in the situation of having to confront and collaborate often with political realities and government on policy and security issues.

It is possible that these skills "diplomatic" may have represented an element of value for Apple, which just this week will be found to meet the US judicial authorities for dispute concerning the iPhone unlocking property of the author of the massacre San Bernardino: a figure able to dialogue with the political and legal spheres could be the right man at the right time.
