In conjunction with the NAB Show 2016 in Las Vegas, AMD has announced a new version of the video card FirePro family targeted on the most powerful graphics workstations. We talk about the model FirePro W9100, with as many as 32 Gbytes of video memory.

It is a double amount compared to 16 Gbytes to date combined with this video card: a new record in the field after a few weeks ago had presented M6000 NVIDIA Quadro card with 24 Gbytes of video memory. These results has been reached with the progressive availability GDDR5 memory chips from 8Gbit capacity each.

General technical specifications do not change: we find so GPU with 2816 stream processors at clock frequency of 930 MHz, combined with GDDR5 memory with an effective clock of 5 GHz combined with a 512bit bus width. The chip is a Hawaii family model, with all active stream processors and featuring a 1/2 ratio between the performance with calculations in double precision (FP64) than single precision (FP32)

Change of course the price, which rose from these figures are excluding taxes, as usual for price lists in US dollars $ 3,999 version to 16 Gbytes up to $ 4,999 of the new board:. The availability of this card on the market is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016.
