Two new Sony objectives were recently presented by the Japanese giant, going to extend the offer with regard to the templates for the Full-Frame format. We're talking about two new FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 OSS G and FE 50mm F1.8 fixed focal length, we're going to briefly describe.
EF 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS is a zoom that promises a high quality, also going to be the first zoom that goes up to 300mm in Sony home. 16 elements in 13 groups, including four aspherical lenses, two ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) and Sony Nano AR coating put it clear that this is not a low cost solution. Everything is designed to minimize the aberrations of various kinds, promising excellent performance on long focal length.
The minimum focusing distance is 90cm, while the weight settles on 854 grams. The used filters are the ones to 72mm, while it is also worth mentioning tropicalization, to withstand dust and splashing water, as well as optical stabilization.
The EF 50mm F1.8 fixed is obviously much lighter (186 grams), and is also recommended for movies. It does not enjoy the weather sealing, but the construction is very well taken care of in this case. This one aspherical lens, while on the front filters Sony informs us that they are the ones 49mm usable models.
Sony FE 70-300mm F4.5 - 5.6 G OSS will be available in April at suggested retail price of € 1,450.00, while FE 50mm F1.8 the declared price is about € 300.00.
