SEAT, Samsung and SAP alliance for connected cars

SEAT, Samsung Electronics and SAP have created a technology alliance to develop future projects related to the paradigm of the connected car by choosing the stage of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to show some conceptual examples jointly developed.

The alliance continues in the footsteps last year by SEAT and Samsung with an agreement on the development of some technological solutions that are already available in some commercial models SEAT. The agreement is strengthened this year with the SAP input which makes available knowledge, skills and technologies in the field of enterprise applications and the Internet of Things.

Injong Rhee, executive vice president and head of R & D, Software and Services of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung commented: "The relationship with SEAT Samsung and SAP highlights our commitment to developing innovative solutions for the connected car next level. Samsung it is careful to fill the gap between the world's consumer electronics and automotive industries, bringing the latest mobile technology the driving experience. "
The alliance's goal is to keep users safe and connected while on the road. The R & D team of SEAT, Samsung and SAP will present at the MWC a few examples of solutions under development, including an app that lets you reserve a parking space and to make the payment directly from the car (thanks to the synergy between Samsung service Pay and SAP Vehicles Network technology) and an evolution of the proposed Key Digital (ie of the technological measures to unlock the car and govern certain functions via smartphone or wearable).

"Making an Internet of Things scalable global solution for urban parking requires the collaboration of innovators such as SEAT, Samsung and SAP. Leaning integration with SAP Vechicles Network and cloud platform SAP HANA for the Internet of Things, SEAT can access a NVENTORY of parking-related on- and off-street where the user can make secure payments using Samsung Pay "commented Bernd Leukert, executive board member of SAP SE.

"For SEAT connectivity is a key element. This alliance technology with Samsung and SAP confirms its objective of seat to become a reference in the field of connectivity and, above all, to ally themselves with the best partners to implement new mobile business ecosystems" has instead commented Luca de Meo, President of SEAT's executive Committee.
