Windows 10: available the official Facebook app, Messenger and Instagram

After announcements, confirmations, referrals and availability limited to a small group first and then more extensive than testers, the new official Facebook app, Messenger and Instagram for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile officially make their debut in the Windows Store. Specifically, Microsoft announces today the availability of Facebook along with the official app of Facebook and Messenger for Windows 10 PCs and tablets, and the official Instagram app for Windows Mobile 10. The arrival of Windows 10 versions of popular apps had been announced in the month of October 2015, but only now coming into the final shape.

These are new releases optimized for Windows 10 that use the features of this platform and who present with features substantially aligned with those of Android and iOS counterparts. The official Facebook app for Windows 10, for example, supports the Live Tiles through which the user can instantly see the status updates of your contacts.

The app also simplifies reading and sharing the articles included in News Feed through in-app browser. Other features worth mentioning include support to Reactions, the stickers in the comments, and major event notifications sent using the Windows native notifications 10. The new version of Facebook for Windows 10, identified by a new logo, will take the instead of the previous version for Windows 8 which, if already installed on your PC or tablet, can still be used.

Facebook Messenger for Windows 10 provides support for desktop notifications, the ability to leverage the Live Tile to display new messages in addition to the main features of the popular app Messaging (sharing photos, stickers, group messages and support for GIF images).

The new app of Facebook and Messenger will arrive in the year even on Windows 10 Mobile platform, adds Facebook today. Meanwhile, the users who use a smartphone-based mobile operating system from Redmond can proceed to download the third app announced today, that is Instagram.

Relations between the users Windows Phone / Windows Mobile 10 were not exactly idyllic past, in light of the apparent lack of interest of the developers against the Microsoft operating system. The situation looks set to improve with the distribution of stable and updated version of Instagram for W10M which closes an important gap with the Android and iOS versions.

Supported all the main functionality of the mobile client available for competing platforms: by direct messages, to videos, to get to the function Search and Explore, and the ability to make the switch between different accounts. Even the official app Instagram for Windows 10 provides support to the Live Tile to display notifications on the Start screen.

Note for the download and installation

Facebook announced that Facebook and Messenger apps for PCs and tablets, together with official Instagram app for Windows Mobile 10 will be available in the course of the day today (April 28) in the Windows Store. The release may take place in stages, so it is physiological to reckon with a wait wider than the deadline indicated.
