HTC disassembled lives here as internally made a VR viewer

Even HTC Vive is passed under the fearsome irons iFixit, the known repair company primarily for its teardown. With the operation iFixit verify the "degree of repairability" of various electronic devices, or the ease with which you can access the internal components of smartphones, tablets, laptops. In this case the team has dismantled HTC Vive, the new viewer for virtual reality that wants to give the opportunity to live on PC "experience" more and more similar to reality itself.

Inside there are two Full HD AMOLED display offering a combined resolution of 2160 x 1200 pixels at a refresh rate of 90Hz with a horizontal field of view of 110 °. Built-in viewer also find the entire series of sensors that allows you to play "experience" the movements made in reality: front camera with microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope and position sensor laser. The infrared transmitters of the front finally allow 360 ° tracking.

Once disassembled, HTC Vive shows its logic board that allows you to process all the data and transforming experience the "magic" of virtual reality. iFixit deliver a 8/10 score on the VR display of HTC, one point more than Oculus Rift. Despite the structural complexity of the product and the presence of multiple components, the team writes that Lives is removed without too much trouble. The screws used are the Phillips and Torx standards, have been used while the-shelf components (for example the same touchpad the Steam Controller. The team however warns that many components are particularly delicate or pasted, and for this recommended in any case contact an authorized service for repairs.
