Amazon Launches Video Direct with cash prizes for the most popular videos

Amazon Video Direct allows content creators to share movies and get some revenue. The service with which to challenge Amazon YouTube and Netflix debuts today in some states (US, UK, Germany, Austria and Japan) in different ways to reward content creators.

Amazon Prime members receive, in fact, the royalties on the basis of the published video views, but also of purchases and subscriptions achieved on their own channels. In addition, each month will be split one million dollars from the creators of the 100 most viewed videos on the platform.

All videos from Amazon Video Direct will be accessible via Smart TV, mobile devices, and those of the Amazon Fire TV family. How Stuff Works, Mattel, The Guardian, Samuel Goldwyn Films are some of the partners who are working with Amazon for this important launch.

Amazon, after the acquisition of Twitch, continues in its plan to trim the gap against Google and YouTube. After the attempt to rival Twitch did with YouTube Gaming, it's time for Amazon to try to break into a field so far dominated by the big G.
