Sony announces Xperia X, a new family of high-end smartphones

During the day on Monday Sony announced at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, a new family brand Xperia. This is the latest new product Xperia X who, at the time of launch, will be made up of three very specific devices: Sony Xperia X, Sony Xperia Sony Xperia XA and X Performance. If the first two moderately captured our attention, the last could prove a very interesting smartphone thanks to the integrated technical components.

Sony Xperia X Performance adopting a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, so we will not have to wait for the arrival of the Xperia Z6 to view it within the line-up of the Japanese smartphone. The smartphone will feature a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution, a body with metallic finish "premium" and design pretty straightforward, similar to that of the current Sony models. The SoC will be paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage expandable via microSD.

The smartphone's strengths are three, according to Sony: the camera, the operational autonomy and design. As for the camera, Sony used a 23-megapixel Exmor RS sensor capable of focusing only 0.1 second advantage of the Hybrid AF technology that we have already seen on many of the company's products. To this is added another methodology focusing called Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, also shooting from stand-alone cameras of the company.

The latter, according to Sony, one can predict the movement of the subject (for example, if you are approaching or moving away) delivering a consistently reliable continuous fire even in the busiest situations. Photo on the front there is also a 5x digital zoom and a maximum sensitivity of ISO 12800 support. also curated the front camera for selfies seemingly without compromise, at least theoretically, in the definition: its 13-megapixel sensor is fact.

Fueling it all is a 2,700 mAh battery, which should be delivered according to Sony two days of operating autonomy. The charge management is entrusted to Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology that should allow the unit built a lifetime in double time than charging technologies commonly used in the smartphone sector. On the side of your smartphone, on the power button, there is also a sensor for fingerprints.

The intermediate model is Sony Xperia X, which is nothing but a Xperia X Performance with limited computational capabilities. It uses the same display Triluminos 5-inch Full HD resolution, the same 23 megapixel Exmor RS camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and also the same 13-megapixel front camera with wide angle lens. Change the processor, which is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650, also with 3GByte of RAM and 32Gbyte of expandable ROM (64 in the Dual-SIM version). The battery is, on this model, as 2.620mAh.

The latest model is Sony Xperia XA, which is characterized, rather than technical choices, for a design with side reduced to the minimum terms frames. The display is an IPS LCD 5-inch 720p resolution, 64-bit embedded processor a MediaTek MT6755, octa-core that is supported by 2GByte of RAM and "up to" 16 GB of onboard memory expandable via microSD. The smartphone will be offered in single and dual-SIM variants. To feed all we will find a battery unit from 2.300mAh for "two days of autonomy".

The Xperia XA model is very nice photo on the front: the main camera uses an Exmor RS sensor (large 1/3 ") 13-megapixel also with Hybrid Autofocus with object tracking. The front system instead has a sensor 8 megapixels with autofocus and wide angle lens.

The three smartphones the Xperia X family will be available in May at a price not yet announced by the company.
