The Facebook Connectivity Lab is using the latest image recognition software to create maps of the density of the population much more accurate than the previous generation of maps. This is accomplished through the intersection of the existing neural network data built on data from the popular social network with the satellite images that return information about the distribution of the buildings on the territory.
