Rise notebook sales in the forecast for Q2 2016

The notebook sales will increase slightly in the second quarter of 2016, according to data compiled by Digitimes Research. The trend shows an increase in sales of around 9.7% for the reporting period compared with the first three months of 2016, although this figure corresponds to a decline of almost 10% compared to the same period last year.

The top 5 producers worldwide will be responsible for the sale of approximately 80% of notebooks on the market. Part of the growth is motivated by the sales of Chromebooks solutions, which are reaping a good market success but in our nation are struggling to replicate this dynamic because of their high dependency on broadband connectivity.

Lenovo is expected to increase in notebook sales of higher-end; Dell follows a similar trend, bolstered by a + 10% in sales of notebook driven by the demand of the enterprise sector. Apple instead demand is lower than that of last year, despite the proposals MacBook 12-inch second-generation have been made.

Acer expects a substantial increase in sales during the second quarter of 2016 thanks to the release of new proposals and gaming Ultrabook presented at the event organized in New York in April. For the Taiwanese company is estimated a more consistent growth in sales volume among the top producers. HP and Asustek, finally, it is estimated an increase in orders to its ODM partners again on account of market demand which has been strengthened with respect to the performance of the first three months of the year.
