Nokia and Walt Disney together for virtual reality with OZO

We're just in April but we have already repeated almost to exhaustion that 2016 is the year in which the virtual reality technologies are ready to take off. The umpteenth confirmation comes from Sunnyvale, California, of the place of Nokia Technologies, which states multi-year agreement that the Finnish manufacturer has made with Walt Disney Studios. At the heart of the agreement is the use of VR camera Nokia OZO to create experiences of complementary virtual reality to the Disney film.

Disney has already used the technology Nokia to create two videos to 360 ° used at the premiere of "The Jungle Book": interviews with the cast and the red carpet have tried to be more engaging by using the formula immersive video in the round. After the first two experiments, the two companies have decided to establish a long-term partnership to explore the potential of virtual reality.

The technology of Nokia is the only one, according to the manufacturer, can now be integrated within the typical workflow of a professional production in a simple and quick, with low complexity, post-reduced production times and therefore also no excessive costs. Nokia is trying thus to build its future on several pillars, none of which are currently founded on the core business of the Finnish brand of the early 2000s, mobile phones: in fact we find in the plans of the company, virtual reality, the 5G technologies ( the infrastructure level), the Cloud and the world of the Internet of Things.
