MacBook 2016 ripped apart by iFixit: always nice and impossible to disassemble

Apple's new MacBook has undergone the inevitable disassembly procedure conducted by iFixit has highlighted the differences in the level of internal components introduced since version 2015. Slight design changes, which are associated with more substantial upgrade of the sub CPU and SSD, already obtainable by scrolling review the features listed in the data sheet.

In the list of changes were those made to the hardware of the controversial USB connector Type C, now hooked directly to the USB adapter, forming in fact one body. iFixit also confirms the expansion of the battery, even if the outside looks the same form factor as the one used by the template 2016. Yet the increase and there is such as to ensure that hour in more than autonomy confirmed by Apple: switching from battery 39.71 Wh, 7.55 v model 2015 to the new battery from 41.41 Wh, 7.6 v of the new MacBook in 2016.

Interesting iFixit statement on battery: our tests indicate that this more robust battery is compatible with the MacBook last year. In theory, it would be possible to replace the previous battery with the current one, even if the difficulties which arose during disassembly make such a purely theoretical possibility. Does not change the final judgment of iFixit its index of repairability: 1 to 10, confirming "Armoured nature" ultrabook Cupertino home that makes it particularly difficult to access and replacement of internal components. Judgment which does not change even taking into account the use of standard Philips screws that take the place of the earlier tri-wing format. iFixit detects that the processor, RAM and flash memory are anchored to the mainboard, while the battery pack remains firmly bonded to the underside of the deck.
