HTC One official S9: 5-inch Full HD for the medium-high

HTC 10 is the top of the Taiwanese range for 2016, and this is not raining there. However, the company has certainly not stopped with announcements this year, and a new device has been made official by the German division of the company. On an aesthetic level the new HTC One S9 is very similar to One M9, especially with regard to the success in the rear unibody aluminum body. Change instead the front, which is deprived from the black frame that has marked the family for years.

HTC One S9 adopts MediaTek Helio X10 processor, octa-core 2GHz, supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, of which 9.24GB available at the first start for the user. The internal memory can be expanded via microSD with full support for memory cards up to 2TB. On the back we find a camera with a sensor of 13 megapixels and stabilized lens with f / 2.0 aperture, very similar configuration to that of HTC A9. Even the front Ultrapixel form looks the same.

It is, in this case, a module with 4 megapixel sensor in which each pixel is large 2μm, feature that establishes a better yield especially in the dark. In terms of size, there are no substantial differences compared to One M9: the area occupied by the smart phone is 144.6 x 69.7 mm, while the thickness 10,1mm reaches the maximum point, half a millimeter of One M9. Inside the body are valuable crammed two facing BoomSound speakers and a 2.840mAh battery.

Unlike HTC One A9, the new model does not have sensors for biometric scanning of fingerprints. In terms of connectivity the smartphone supports 4G LTE (Cat networks. 4), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 devices, in addition to the usual GPS. Installed natively find Android Marshmallow, the latest version available to the public, with the canonical customization HTC Sense and all its aesthetic and functional improvements.

The success of what could be an excellent mid-range device is a little 'maybe compromised by list price - a bit' too high - which is available in Germany, an error that the Taiwanese have committed more and more often in recent years . HTC One S9 costs 599 Euros, where most competitors offer similar proposals in quality at prices substantially lower. We do not know at the moment whether the smartphone will also be launched for our market.
