Angry Birds Action! It is a new game for Android and iOS with a slightly different gameplay than the tradition of the series of angry birds. As the title suggests, in fact, it is a gameplay voted to action, in which players will take advantage of the unique skills of each bird to continue the level, now bouncing between a surface and the other now making its way by brute force from the ranks of the enemy.
But the most innovative feature of Angry Birds Action! It is another: the app uses a system similar to the QR codes to create connections between products. The system is defined BirdCodes and runs through codes entered in merchandising objects such as those made available by the various McDonald's, Pez, H & M, and Lego. Just point these codes with your smartphone camera and here within the game are unlocked new entertainment experiences.
Players can scan the code every time you want to access these rapid and concentrated experiences, designed precisely to be lived anywhere. In Rovio plans it is above all an incentive to return to the store or to definitely purchase the toy on which is placed the code, and play so quietly at home.
Rovio said that already a million codes has been printed and is in products shipped around the world, such as McDonald's Happy Meal boxes or certain leaders of H & M clothing.
The promotional initiative, however, is addressed primarily to the Angry Birds movie will arrive in theaters in the US May and 16 June in Italy. During the end credits, in fact, it will be shown a code that if taken with your smartphone unlock yet another gaming experience and a clip which will provide a different perspective than the actual end of the film.
Rovio is trying for some time to revive the franchise, after which no longer able to find a video game level of the forms of gaming that can attract audiences of smartphones. In 2014, in fact, the merchandise sales related to Angry Birds fell by 43%, while Rovio has changed two CEOs in a time frame rather narrow. Pekka Rantala has indeed given way to Kati Levoranta. At the same time they have done some 260 job cuts.
