The Dark Souls board game has reached US $ 5 million on Kickstarter

The Kickstarter campaign launched to finance the Dark Souls board game ended with success in yesterday. The accumulated figure has gone far beyond the expectations of the creators of Steamforged, with over $ 5 million and accumulated a 7300% increase compared to the $ 70,832 originally planned.

Thanks to the collected money all additional stretch goals have been unlocked, which will allow to expand the set to include 14 types of soldiers, 10 player classes, 10 armor sets, 10 different types of invaders, 6 Summonable allies and 5 bosses, all available in the edition launch planned for next spring.

The Dark Souls board game carves out then a prominent place among the most successful campaigns in the history of Kickstarter, placing itself in line with the spiritual successor of Castlevania - titled Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - which last year obtained 5.5 million of dollars.

Although the card game draws inspiration from the whole of Dark Souls franchise, the contributions and the most significant influences will come from Dark Souls 3. Many classes, boss and armor will indeed be played along the lines of the content available in the latest effort From Software .
