Nineteen year old commits suicide live on Periscope

Over the last few months is the fashion of the live streaming, direct spread. At launch, but did not create, the trend has been Periscope, one of the first services to allow you to show off their feats with minimal latency (access permitting), but also to do it in a very simple way. Periscope has indeed given the opportunity to everyone to show their daily lives immediately. But there is a dark side on which the legal authorities are working.

Dark side that we can infer from what happened in France, the Égly station, outside Paris. Authorities across the Alps are investigating the death of a young woman who committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, all during a violent direct on the Twitter service: "The girl would send an SMS to one of his closest acquaintances a few minutes before his death to announce his intentions, "said Eric Lallement attorney at the New York Times.

"In addition, it made some statements to the Internet via Periscope users, explaining his act." According to sources, in direct they were attending more than a thousand users who did not seem to believe the statements, ironically encouraging the action to the protagonist. The file with the transmission has been removed from service, but you can find some online censored copies of the video. Investigators are now looking into the phone of the young Frenchman.

"The video I'm doing right now is not done to create turmoil but to react people, open their minds," he said after the victim reported being a victim of rape. The public meanwhile reacted almost smug, general disbelief: "We are waiting," and "I think it's funny," in the comments. The screen is then turned black, then reappeared while emergency responders claimed to be with the victim.

It is not the first time that Periscope ends in the local newspapers. Less than a month ago the service hosted the live broadcast of an attempted rape against an American seventeen, while another friend was filming the incident. In that case, both the accused that the girl who took over were indicted, but often what happens in direct can be a difficult challenge for law enforcement agencies, which have to find rapid solutions to a new problem.

In the past there have been other cases of online suicides: in 2010 the Swede Marcus Jannes he performed the stupendous extreme gesture in front of her webcam, and also other services such as Instagram have hosted schedules of suicides that were then actually completed.
