Tesla, a veteran executive Audi supervision of Model 3

Tesla has hired Peter Hochholdinger, executive Audi for about 22 years, to fill the role of Vice President of Vehicle Production. Replaces Greg Reichow, that according to what is revealed Bloomberg took a leave of absence at the beginning of May in order to have a "well deserved break" from your busy days. The Hochholdinger goals are to increase the production of Model S and Model X and carry out a specific production program for Model 3.

At the time of writing, according to a recent article by Reuters Tesla has received about 400,000 pre-orders for Model 3. Recently there have been several concerns on the actual manufacturer's ability to meet this unexpected demand, especially if we consider that in fact all previous cars Tesla Roadster, Model S and Model X, were late - forever different reasons - with respect to the route plan.

Even Elon Musk has not shown too sure on the timing of the new arrival. Sold at a lower price than previous proposals of the company, the first Model 3 may not be available by the end of next year, "I feel that [the first Model 3] fairly confident will arrive within the next year," he said Musk during the presentation, where the choice of the word "enough" might be strategic.

Hochholdinger has a past elite, having overseen important projects for the German manufacturer: among these we mention Audi A4, Audi A5 and Audi Q5. He was responsible for the production of 400,000 vehicles a year within its activities at Audi, and was involved in the consultancy during the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Mexico. The experience of the former Audi could in fact be invaluable for Tesla, also considering the possible opening of a new dedicated production plant for the Model 3 in China.
