Valve releases a benchmark to see if your PC is ready for the VR

The SteamVR Performance Test measures the capacity of the system in the rendering of a sequence of two minutes is the Aperture demo Robot Repair VR Valve. After collecting the data after two minutes, it determines if your PC is ready to run virtual reality applications to 90fps. For those systems are not ready for the VR, in addition, the test indicates what is the component to be updated, if the CPU, GPU, or whatever.

The recommended system requirements for this application are as follows:

Recommended:

OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
Processor: Intel i5-4590 / AMD FX 8350 equivalent or greater
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent or higher

And that's not all because, according to some reports like the one made by DSOGaming, including the program files there would be some references to Half Life 3 and Half Life 2: Source 2. For example:

c: \ buildslave \ vrgdc2015_staging_win64 \ build \ src \ ga me \ shared \ HL3 \ hl3_vscriptgamesystem.cpp ...... .VScr iptServerHL3

This obviously does not confirm that Half-Life 3 is indeed in development, as many players are asking now for several years, but that probably Valve is doing some experiments with the VR, perhaps adapting to the stereoscopic Half-Life 2.
