Windows 10, innovations in development for File Explorer and backup to OneDrive

The Windows 10 operating system is projected toward the next major upgrade which will arrive approximately in the summer, codenamed "Redstone". The new stage in the evolution of Microsoft's desktop OS will pass through a series of refinements of existing features, including those that relate to essential aspects of the user interface. Recently, new information emerged on the interventions that will affect the File Explorer and content backup feature leveraging the cloud service OneDrive.

To provide an important confirmation about confidential projects to File Explorer was Peter Skillman, General Manager Core UX to Windows Desktop. The manager confirmed that the team is working on an update that will affect the Windows file explorer in its totality, not a minor update, according to the literal tenor of the intervention, then. Unfortunately lacking details both about news that specifically affect this section, both on the expected timing of introducing them - likely that such changes are introduced not before Redstone.

The File Explorer in Windows 10, even though refined aesthetics and the individual sections, still showed a strong link with previous releases of the Windows operating system; a fact that on the one hand satisfy those looking for continuity between Windows 7, 8 and 10 and is not to be displaced by aesthetic and structural changes so 'important, it does not help to create a consistent interface in all its aspects.

The second new feature of Windows 10 emerges looking at the leaked build 14278, recently spread to the network, and relates to the backup system via OneDrive.
