Telegram crosses the finish line of the 100 million active users

Establish itself in the instant messaging services segment is not easy, especially in view of the presence of companies that have managed to establish themselves in a decisive manner, leaving little room for competitors. Telegram is one of the few alternatives to more popular services, from WhatsApp. Also today, the service managers confirm a milestone, namely the achievement of the 100 million active users, which comes after a growing trend. In the past nine months, in fact, the number of users increased by 60%.

According to figures given by management, were 350,000 new users, every day, they chose to try Telegram; every day are delivered 15 billion messages using the servzio that can be accessed either through the client available for major mobile platforms, either via the web. The numbers are certainly worthy of mention, but the gap with the main competitor remains. To have a benchmark, WhatsApp announced in early February that it has reached an installed base of 1 billion active users.

The main weakness of Telegram is not so much related to the quality of service, as the spread itself, determined by the dynamics that go beyond the intrinsic value of the product. The strengths can be summarized in a Telegram measures introduced to make secure communications (messages are encrypted and there is an option for "self-destruction" of the same), it is a cloud-based service, it is also possible to exploit the message synchronization between all devices that access the service, not to mention the fact that Telegram is free of all - true is that, recently, WhatsApp can boast this feature.

Users interested in trying Telegram can download the mobile platform (supported Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Firefox OS) and desktop client (Windows, Mac, Linux) connecting to this address. Alternatively, you can use the web app (see. HERE and HERE for Chrome).
