OneDrive.com: Microsoft simplifies sharing options

Microsoft has always been committed to reliance of its products and services accessible not only through the classical applications installed on PCs and mobile devices, but also via the web. Expansion of Skype's functionality to the Web of the past few hours has just added another novelty that interests Onedrive.live.com, or the official website that lets you manage your Microsoft cloud service via Internet browser. With a post published in the official Microsoft blog announcing the changes to the user interface that make it easier and intuitive the sharing activity of archived content.

Following the amendment the "Share" called up by pressing the homonym option from the context menu of files or folders, which now features two well-marked items "Get links" and "Mailbox ". The first offers the possibility to generate links that can be easily communicated to the person sharing, the second allows you to invite a contact to view only the files or viewing and editing of the same.

Previously the "Share" options contained "Invite people" and "Get Link." The "Get Link" - according to the analysis of user habits conducted by Microsoft - it was the most used, but was not the default choice, and also could not be defined exactly intuitive because it contained several options to customize the connection and restrict access to content. To reduce the risk of confusion and immediately put at the disposal only the most used options Microsoft has changed the menu as described.

Enabling large-scale change was preceded by a test phase which was attended by around 28,000 users. The new method proved more appreciated, considering the parameter of the number of users who have content and the number of shared content.
