Microsoft: backtrack on Bitcoin, yet accepted

It was a mistake. This is the explanation given by Microsoft officially a few hours away from the news relative inability to use the Bitcoin Store to buy the contents of Windows 10 by adding funds to the existing budget.

The information contained on the support page have been inserted incorrectly, clarifies Microsoft, which told Venture Beat website:

We will continue to support the Bitcoin currency to add to your Microsoft Account that can be used to purchase content in the Windows Store and the Xbox Store. We apologize for the inaccurate information that was inadvertently published on a Microsoft site, currently under correction.

The support page is currently removed and formally, the Bitcoins are a payment instrument supported by the Windows Store, according to the buying mode "indirect" that allows you to increase the balance of your Microsoft account.

The dynamics that have led to the publication of incorrect information are not well understood. Specifically, it is not known whether the Redmond has published incorrect information in substance or if it was the early publication of a news item that will be formalized in the future anyway. As you can see from the screenshot of the support page, the information was not at all equivocal, or lend the side to wrong interpretation:

In the absence of further guidance, for now Microsoft decides to continue to support the controversial currency of payment, accepted in the Windows Store as of the end of 2014 (in selected markets).
