From Crytek Basemark and a benchmark for virtual reality

VRScore is the name of a benchmark developed jointly by Basemark and Crytek, presented at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco and thought to better assess the quality and performance of viewers for virtual reality presented on the market.

At present the software is compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Lives and Open Source Virtual Reality solutions (OSVR). The software was developed based on CryEngine 3 from Crytek, both compatible with DirectX 11 API as with those DirectX 12.

The test suite includes analysis to assess the interactive VR gaming, playing a 360-degree video over spatial audio in VR environment. The test work is in connection to a VR viewer is not that this component is matched to the system: in this way you can evaluate your system's ability to manage virtual reality environments with an adequate level of performance before purchasing a viewer.

Next to the RV Score software you can also buy Score Trek Suite, a package that also includes a hardware tool with which to assess the individual latency of the two integrated displays in a viewer, in addition to the persistence of the image on the display so as to provide an objective assessment technical and specifically linked to the hardware construction of the viewer.
The official debut of this software will occur during the month of June, in the free version and paid: the first will deploy limited functionality while the second will be to complete type, following in this a business model popularized by Futuremark products.
