Official new chapter of Oddworld to 11 years after the previous

Launched on the official website that reveals the first details of the project Oddworld: Soulstorm, while ignoring the media, trailers or other visual content. The story of the new chapter will resume the story of New 'n' Tasty, itself a remake of the first memorable chapter in the series, Abe's Oddysee. And even this new Oddworld will be halfway between the remake and a new chapter for the series.

Soulstorm will be developed jointly by the British and Canadian team of Oddworld Inhabitants, with the external support of Frima Studio, which is headquartered in Quebec, Canada. Play resumes from the moment Abe frees his comrades from degrading work for the powerful and helps them escape from RuptureFarms. After defeating the Molluck Glukkon, in fact, Abe and 300 Mudokon that he freed find themselves without food, water and a place they can call home. Isolated in the desert, find solace in a mysterious drink that can "lead to insidious complications for their newfound freedom," reads the press release.

"It is a story even more dark, deep and left than earlier," says Lorne Lanning, Oddworld creator who is now 51 years old. "Soulstorm allows us to put more meat on the original spine and tell the story from a different perspective. Abe has a long way to go and a lot of adversity to deal with, and for that Soulstorm for him will be a more difficult journey."

Oddworld will thus continue to face some difficult issues of modern society and the distortions that helps create, linked to environmentalism, capitalism, consumerism and dependence.
