Google Project Tango: one of the first real applications is targata Accenture for Fiat

The Mobile World Congress always reserve Barcelona very interesting goodies and the palm of the best at the moment is one of the first commercial applications of Project Tango, the well-known project of Google for augmented reality mobile devices. Developed by Accenture Interactive to FCA, particularly Fiat, it allows you to view the display of a tablet's virtual car size in real space in front of us, with the ability to configure all the real-time characteristics.

We managed to get a demo of the technology, directly from the voice of Matthew Aliberti, Head of Digital Innovation Accenture Interactive, who worked closely the development of the app. The car is placed virtually and in front of you, but in perfect interaction with the real space: for example, if we were to use the tablet in front of our garage we could verify, prior to purchase, as and if the car can be placed in box. The machine is fixed in space: if we stray we see smaller, if we approach we can appreciate the details.

You can also visit the interior completely, always having as background the real space around us, with the people around us visible through the open door, but also in transparency through the windscreen, side windows and rear window. The precision is very high and you can also capture the texture of the seats and the interior, with the feeling of porteli almost touch. We hit the fluidity of the app (developed on Unity), really ready to create a showroom in augmented reality in dealerships and then also directly to users' home when on Project Tango based terminals will be purchased by end users. What else to say? We leave you directly to our live video demonstration of the technology, do not miss it!
