Plextor has made a name in days gone by, when the brand was synonymous with CD / DVD writer high-quality and high-level service. Times are changing and so are the business strategies, which is why it is not surprising if a company active in the landscape offers its SSD storage solutions. It is not too new, existing from time unit of this type in the price of the Japanese manufacturer.
These days is the news that sees Plextor propose the new family of SSD M6S Plus, which differs from the M6S without the Plus for the use of chips in 15nm instead of 19nm ones. The controller used is appreciated Marvell 88SS9188, while the cuts are available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Not then we find a unit next to TB, as is the case with most of the competition.
On the performance front Plextor states for all readings cuts in the order of 520MB / s, while for the records of the speech changes by virtue of the channels more or less used depending on the number of chips on board. The 128GB model can write up to 300MB / s, rising to 420MB / s for the 256GB drives, reaching 440MB / s over the more capacious. Plextor does not hide the nature of "value" of these units, designed to compete nell'agguerrito world of consumer SSDs with not much money.
The form factor is obviously to 2.5-inch and 7 mm in thickness, industry standards, and to be reported are the technologies PlexTurbo data-caching and PlexCompressor (already present in the non-Plus models), the latter are able to compress data less used to save space, save decompress "on the fly" once they are retrieved by the system.
No official indication as to the price, for which you have to wait a bit 'of time keeping an eye on the price lists of the leading online stores.
