Kodi, promise legal battle against pirate TV box

Formerly known as XBMC, Kodi is one of the best and popular multimedia platforms for the use of content. In addition to the mere reproduction of typically Kodi audiovisual files it provides many additional tools to perform, for example, downloading files or streaming via the Internet. The problem is that many "producers" of set-top-box exploit his versatility by installing modified versions that allow playback of all Free movies and series copyrighted TV.

Simply take a ride in the online retail channels most common to realize the situation of set-top-box "full loaded." Many products are sold with Kodi customizations in which the platform is appropriately modified to play simply, and without installing additional plug-ins in addition to those proposed natively, films, TV series and other content protected by copyright. In many cases in the advertisements does not mention the illegality inherent in performing this act, or people less experienced he was able to understand it in any way.

Which it is a problem for the team behind Kodi, which is almost obligatory to have to offer support to these users. Many of the plug-in used by illegal customizations are not in fact of great quality and stop working after a short period of time. Users thus pour on official Kodi forums trying to figure out how to solve the situation, with the group that is in fact in difficulty being associated with acts of piracy without being directly responsible. If the person installing the plug-ins themselves know that Kodi has no responsibility, the same concept is not obvious to those who find themselves plugins pirate already installed on the set-top-box.

In fact products stands out the message "Powered by Kodi", that does not give many alternatives to the company if you do not organize a legal maneuver to stem the phenomenon: "There are many sellers willing to make money by changing Kodi, installing add-on pirate and promoting Kodi as a vector for the enjoyment of movies and television shows for free, "said Nathan Betzen, President of XBMC Foundation. "But then they disappear when customers buy the product and find that the add-on has a number of bugs in the course of the operation."

The company is trying to dissociate themselves from this and informed that it will begin a legal battle against all those who use the name without permission: "This means that we will publish requests to remove trademark infringement where the risk of confusion is high," he warned Betzen. "If you sell on your site a box designed to trick users, we will do everything to stop you." In short, Kodi wants to exploit all possible means to extract itself from the piracy market, a market where it is not naturally never came on purpose.

The team not only block online retailers, but all those who exploit the brand without a license, such as YouTuber, blogs or websites that promote nuisance uses application. The group is also looking to gain the favor of the supporters, asking them to report any breaches of the rules on the part of retailers and YouTuber in order to block them on the basis of the brand Kodi properties.

Apple’s AI Push: Everything We Know About Apple Intelligence So Far

Apple’s WWDC 2025 confirmed what many suspected: Apple is finally making a serious leap into artificial intelligence. Dubbed “Apple Intelligence,” the suite of AI-powered tools, enhancements, and integrations marks the company’s biggest software evolution in a decade. But unlike competitors racing to plug AI into everything, Apple is taking a slower, more deliberate approach — one rooted in privacy, on-device processing, and ecosystem synergy. If you’re wondering what Apple Intelligence actually is, how it works, and what it means for your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you’re in the right place. This article breaks it all down.   What Is Apple Intelligence? Let’s get the terminology clear first. Apple Intelligence isn’t a product — it’s a platform. It’s not just a chatbot. It’s a system-wide integration of generative AI, machine learning, and personal context awareness, embedded across Apple’s OS platforms. Think of it as a foundational AI layer stitched into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and m...

The Silent Revolution of On-Device AI: Why the Cloud Is No Longer King

Introduction For years, artificial intelligence has meant one thing: the cloud. Whether you’re asking ChatGPT a question, editing a photo with AI tools, or getting recommendations on Netflix — those decisions happen on distant servers, not your device. But that’s changing. Thanks to major advances in silicon, model compression, and memory architecture, AI is quietly migrating from giant data centres to the palm of your hand. Your phone, your laptop, your smartwatch — all are becoming AI engines in their own right. It’s a shift that redefines not just how AI works, but who controls it, how private it is, and what it can do for you. This article explores the rise of on-device AI — how it works, why it matters, and why the cloud’s days as the centre of the AI universe might be numbered. What Is On-Device AI? On-device AI refers to machine learning models that run locally on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or edge device — without needing constant access to the cloud. In practi...
