ASUS ZenDrive U7M burn DVDs M-DISC and protects data for eternity

The cloud is a really great innovation and, in the future, the amount of data that will find the hotel in the "cloud" is set to grow. Despite the growing trend, not everyone is now willing to entrust to remote servers and to subjects cloud service providers the archiving task of valuable data that, as such, we tend to guard jealously. Pursuing the objective of maintaining safely and completely released from the web their data, traditional optical media appear in many respects one of the safest solutions, if only by their nature inherently offline. If the safety aspect is then combines that of duration, then the optical media still has a lot to say.

The M-DISC to Milleniata have been around for several years and focus the aspect of the duration of the support to provide something extra in the storage segment of data. According to the company, the M-DISC DVD and BR are designed to preserve the data stored for over 1000 years, the very near term to the concept of "eternity" (after all, it is humanly impossible to contradict Milleniata). To store data in the M-DISC requires special devices, such as the ASUS ZenDrive U7M announced today, with a DVD burner that supports (also) DVDs M-DISC.

In greater detail the characteristics of ASUS ZenDrive U7M (SDRW-08U7M-U) should clarify that it is a USB external CD writer, by the reduced thickness and marketed under a suite of applications that allow you to manage the product. CyberLink Power2Go 8 simplifies the burning process and offers an optional feature for encryption of data, while Nero BackItUp for Android is a complete backup solution for data stored in smartphones and Android tablet.

of the new ZenDrive strength is the ability to manage the M-DISC DVD, which adopt a special laser technology by which the data is etched in a very robust and durable storage layer to the lighting conditions, extreme temperature and humidity. A solution that has advantages not only compared to the cloud, but also taking into account the average duration of hard disks and other writable media. If you just can not help the cloud, Asus offers to buyers of ZenDrive U7M unlimited storage space on ASUS WebStorage free for six months.

Blank DVD M-DISC are on average more expensive than DVDs that do not use the patented technology from Millenniata; to have a benchmark, 15 DVD + R M-DISC are proposed at 55 euro via Amazon (can of course find more or less favorable prices). Appreciated the fact that ASUS has included in the package of U7M ZenDrive two DVDs M-DISC.

Apple’s AI Push: Everything We Know About Apple Intelligence So Far

Apple’s WWDC 2025 confirmed what many suspected: Apple is finally making a serious leap into artificial intelligence. Dubbed “Apple Intelligence,” the suite of AI-powered tools, enhancements, and integrations marks the company’s biggest software evolution in a decade. But unlike competitors racing to plug AI into everything, Apple is taking a slower, more deliberate approach — one rooted in privacy, on-device processing, and ecosystem synergy. If you’re wondering what Apple Intelligence actually is, how it works, and what it means for your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you’re in the right place. This article breaks it all down.   What Is Apple Intelligence? Let’s get the terminology clear first. Apple Intelligence isn’t a product — it’s a platform. It’s not just a chatbot. It’s a system-wide integration of generative AI, machine learning, and personal context awareness, embedded across Apple’s OS platforms. Think of it as a foundational AI layer stitched into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and m...

The Silent Revolution of On-Device AI: Why the Cloud Is No Longer King

Introduction For years, artificial intelligence has meant one thing: the cloud. Whether you’re asking ChatGPT a question, editing a photo with AI tools, or getting recommendations on Netflix — those decisions happen on distant servers, not your device. But that’s changing. Thanks to major advances in silicon, model compression, and memory architecture, AI is quietly migrating from giant data centres to the palm of your hand. Your phone, your laptop, your smartwatch — all are becoming AI engines in their own right. It’s a shift that redefines not just how AI works, but who controls it, how private it is, and what it can do for you. This article explores the rise of on-device AI — how it works, why it matters, and why the cloud’s days as the centre of the AI universe might be numbered. What Is On-Device AI? On-device AI refers to machine learning models that run locally on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or edge device — without needing constant access to the cloud. In practi...
