HTC could return to produce Android devices in the Nexus range, tying up relations with Google after the (relatively) new tablet Nexus 9 and Nexus One historian. To suggest are two sufficiently reliable sources, namely Evan Blass (leaker known as Evleaks) and Android Police. Would be two Android N currently developed by HTC devices on behalf of Google, says Evan Blass, internally identified by the product code M1 and S1 and belonging to the Nexus line:
The Android Police website corroborates the rumors spread by Blass and adds further details regarding the code name that would match Marlin and Sailfish. The reference to the first is contained in the instrument for review of the AOSP code (Gerrit) and has been spotted for the first time in late March. An engineer of Qualcomm expressly cited "Marlin", a fact that suggests the direct involvement in the activity of the manufacturer of the new product development.
Unfortunately, at present, they are not released further details of specifications and product type. Specifically, it is unclear whether it will be two different smartphones, two variants of the same model under development or a smartphone and a tablet. Both sources are to be considered reliable, but we will need to collect more evidence to confirm the validity of the claims. No reference to Sailfish in official sources, for the moment.
HTC continues to face an ongoing difficult situation in reporting sales of smartphones to the desired levels and the new partnership with Google could give brilliance to the Taiwanese brand. The latest Nexus device manufactured by HTC for Google was the Nexus tablet 9, arrived on the market in late 2014 and recently removed from Nexus devices catalog - a sign that a replacement proposal could be in the pipeline (that is HTC to produce it is yet to be proven).
