Last week Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, had not officially announced via a tweet on their channel the imminent announcement of a new top of the line Kindle. Announcement that it arrived definitively in the course of the last few hours with the leaders of the company who also made official the new device name, or Kindle Oasis.
Successor but not Replacer Voyager Kindle, which will remain available on the store, the new Oasis is characterized by a 6-inch diagonal display and 300 ppi with respect to the pixel density. The dimesioni are 143 x 122 x 3.4 to 8.5 mm, while the weight is around 130 grams, with a difference of a few units between versions with and without data connectivity.
The internal memory is 4GB, more than enough to contain a discrete quantity of books. Supported formats are different and among them we can mention Kindle 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP with conversion.
Interestingly the new design and above all the new weight distribution, which should ensure an excellent balance when impugnamo the device with one hand. The shape has been designed to fit together perfectly with the cover in specially made skin, as well as protecting the product, also it offers an additional battery.
Kindle Oasis is available for pre-order on Amazon at a price definitely not trivial. In fact we are talking about an investment of EUR 289.99 for the WiFi-only version, an increase of 60 € for the version with data connectivity.
